Giving Back to the Community
Fraternities and Sorrorities at the University of Western Ontario strive to be an active part of the London community. Every year the UWO Lambda Chi Alpha chapter looks for ways to improve on our philanthropic endevours. Our philanthopic offering is always evolving to encompas new ideas and methods. Currently we provide the London Food Bank with the single larges food donation that they recieve on an annual basis. We hold a breast cancer awareness and reseach fundraiser every year and donate to the Mens Mission clothing drive annually. Our 2010/2011 Academic Year contributions totaled about $35,000 worth of food, clothing and cash donations. This is an average contribution to the London community of approximately $1,000 per active undergraduate brother. We are one of the highest per-capita charitable contributors to charity at the University of Western Ontario.
North American Food Drive
Each year the Lambda Chi Alpha chapter at the University of Western Ontario participates in our international fundraiser: The North American Food Drive (NAFD). As a whole, Lambda Chi Alpha chapters accross North America raise millions of pounds of food to feed the less fortunate.
